Blazer Jobs is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist for a per diem contract position in Watertown, MN. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services on a per diem basis, including conducting assessments, evaluations, and creating individualized treatment plans for students.
- Work with students, including those with special needs, to enhance their motor skills, sensory processing, and ability to complete daily living activities.
- Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and staff to integrate therapy goals into students' academic plans.
- Participate in IEP meetings to develop and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and provide progress updates.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in both one-on-one and small group settings, addressing specific needs and goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy services, student progress, and treatment outcomes in accordance with local and state regulations.
- Advise and provide strategies to teachers and families to support students' functional independence both inside and outside the classroom.
Required Qualifications:
- A valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Minnesota, in accordance with state regulations.
- Previous experience working with special education students is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and experience working in school settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including educators, parents, and support staff.
- Excellent communication skills, with a student-centered approach to therapy.
- Flexible, organized, and capable of maintaining accurate records while working independently.
