Blazer Jobs is excited to announce a full-time contract opportunity for an experienced Social Worker in a school-based setting in Aurora, CO. We are seeking qualified candidates who meet all local and state regulatory requirements. Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide individual and group counseling addressing issues such as anxiety, trauma, and family dynamics.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution within the school environment.
- Advocate for students and families by connecting them with community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all services provided, ensuring compliance with district and state policies.
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to fostering a positive school culture.
- Organize and lead workshops for staff and parents on mental health and social-emotional learning strategies.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid social work license in the state of Colorado.
- Prior experience in a school setting, especially with special education students, is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations of students and families.
