Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a school-based team in Beverly, MA. This part-time contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work with students, particularly those with special needs, in a supportive educational setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students, including assessments, evaluations, and the development of individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with the special education team, teachers, and staff to integrate therapy goals into students' overall academic and social development.
- Work directly with students, including those with special needs, to improve motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students and provide progress updates during IEP meetings.
- Provide direct therapy services, both in individual and small group settings, to address the specific needs of students.
- Maintain detailed documentation of therapy services, student progress, and other relevant records, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.
- Offer guidance and support to teachers and families on strategies to foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
Required Qualifications:
- A valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Massachusetts, in accordance with state regulations.
- Previous experience working with special education students is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and experience with therapy services in school settings.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, special education teams, and families to meet the needs of students.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, student-focused approach to therapy.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
