Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing for an experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join a school-based team in Santa Clara, CA. This full-time, contracted position provides a rewarding opportunity to work with students and help them enhance their communication skills in a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing speech and language therapy to students, including both one-on-one and group sessions.
- Implement therapy plans under the supervision of an SLP, adjusting interventions as needed to meet individual student goals.
- Track student progress and document therapy outcomes, providing regular updates to the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized communication goals for students.
- Assist with conducting speech and language screenings, evaluations, and assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of therapy services, including progress notes and treatment plans.
- Work with students who have special education needs, ensuring that therapy services are tailored to support their unique challenges and goals.
- Help students develop communication skills to improve their academic performance and social interactions.
Requirements:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) certification.
- Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
- Must meet all local and state certification requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
