Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)
- Valid Connecticut School Social Worker (SSW) License
- Experience working with young children and supporting early childhood education is preferred
Job Details:
- Location: Onsite in Hartford, Connecticut
- Work Schedule: Full-Time, 32.5 hours per week
- Contract Duration: ASAP to March 28th, 2025
- School Year: 2024/2025 academic year
- Caseload: Early Childhood (working with young students, including Pre-K and Kindergarten)
Responsibilities of the School Social Worker:
- Participate in IEP meetings to assess the needs of early childhood students and contribute to the development of individualized goals
- Deliver social work services to students, focusing on achieving social-emotional and behavioral goals outlined in IEPs
- Conduct assessments to identify the specific needs of students, including social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Provide individual and group counseling to young students, addressing social development, emotional regulation, and behavior
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Document and maintain accurate student records in compliance with school policies and regulations
