Position Overview:
- Location: Springfield, MA
- Start Date: ASAP
- Schedule: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
- Caseload: Middle School students with Developmental Delays, Intellectual Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Support: Work alongside a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assist with therapy and other speech-related services
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy support for middle school students with developmental and intellectual delays, as well as students diagnosed with ASD.
- Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Assist with speech and language evaluations and help track the students progress over time.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure speech and language goals are integrated into the students' daily activities and academic work.
- Work closely with students in both individual and group settings, helping them develop communication, social, and behavioral skills.
- Support classroom activities by providing accommodations to students with speech and language challenges.
- Document progress and report on therapy outcomes to the Speech-Language Pathologist and other relevant staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communications, or a related field
- Active SLPA License for the state of Massachusetts
- Experience working with middle school students and children with ASD, developmental delays, and intellectual disabilities is preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to engage and motivate students in a classroom setting, adapting therapy techniques to meet individual needs
