Essential Qualifications:
- Certification: Must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Education: A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a closely related field is required.
- License: Active, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license in Kansas or eligibility to obtain licensure in Kansas.
Position Details:
- Work Setting: This full-time, onsite position is located in the welcoming and supportive community of Home, KS. You will work directly with students and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide effective speech and language therapy.
- Employment Type: Full-time, W-2 employment, offering a stable and long-term opportunity to grow professionally.
- Caseload: You will serve a diverse caseload, ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and work with students with various speech and language needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Speech Therapy Services: Provide individual and group speech therapy to students with a range of speech and language challenges, including articulation, fluency, and language disorders.
- IEP Development: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that are customized to meet the needs of each student. Collaborate with educators and families to ensure the IEPs are aligned with students educational goals.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with school staff, including teachers and administrators, to ensure that speech and language therapy goals are integrated into the students broader educational experience. Act as a resource to help teachers address students' communication needs within the classroom setting.
- Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess student progress, document results, and provide ongoing updates to parents and school staff. Use data-driven methods to adjust therapy as needed to maximize student success.
- Student Advocacy: Advocate for students communication needs, ensuring they receive the support and accommodations necessary to succeed both in the classroom and in social settings.
