Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time, school-based position in Pontiac, MI. Position Overview
As an SLP in this district, you will play a key role in providing speech and language services to students, particularly those with special education needs. You will assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech and language disorders, collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and special education staff to ensure that students' communication needs are met.
Job Requirements
- Must meet all qualifications and requirements set by local and state regulations to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Michigan.
- Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), speech therapy techniques, and behavioral management.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and families.
Typical Job Duties
- Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on students IEP goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, either individually or in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and treatment plans.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing feedback on student progress and therapy goals.
- Assist teachers in the classroom by offering strategies to support students with speech and language needs.
- Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal regulations regarding speech therapy services.
