Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing for an experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join a full-time, school-based position in South Bend, IN. This is an excellent opportunity for an SLPA to make a difference in students' lives while working in a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing direct speech and language therapy services to students.
- Implement therapy plans under the supervision of an SLP, conducting both one-on-one and group therapy sessions.
- Monitor student progress and document therapy outcomes, providing feedback to the SLP and adjusting techniques as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students.
- Assist in conducting speech and language screenings and assessments as directed by the SLP.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and student evaluations.
- Provide support for students with special education needs, ensuring that therapy is tailored to each students Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Work closely with students to improve their communication skills, social interactions, and academic performance.
Requirements:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) certification.
- Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
- Must meet all state and local certification requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
