Position: School Psychologist
Location: Medford, MA
Caseload: Middle School (with K-12 flexibility)
Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Hours: 40 hours per week (for Full-Time), Flexible hours available for Part-Time
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments for students in grades K-12, including those with behavioral and academic challenges.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, behavioral, and social needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement strategies to support students' mental health and academic growth.
- Participate in IEP and 504 plan meetings, offering recommendations based on psychological evaluations and assessments.
- Provide crisis intervention and support, as well as risk assessments when needed.
- Support students with mental health needs, social skills development, and coping strategies to enhance their academic experience.
- Assist in the development of positive behavioral interventions and strategies in the classroom.
- Offer consultation and guidance to parents and school staff regarding student behavior, learning disabilities, and emotional well-being.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions to meet individual needs.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in school psychology and collaborate with professional teams for ongoing support.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field (required).
- Valid Massachusetts School Psychologist certification (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience working with middle school-aged students (preferred).
- Knowledge of psychoeducational assessments, IEP development, and behavior intervention plans.
- Experience with mental health support, counseling, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
- Passion for supporting students emotional and psychological well-being to enhance their academic success.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic school environment.
