Position Overview:
As a School Psychologist in Athens, you will play a crucial role in assessing students' cognitive, emotional, and academic needs while providing individualized support through intervention strategies. You will collaborate with educators, families, and school staff to create tailored plans to ensure students' academic and emotional success. Your expertise will contribute to fostering a positive, inclusive school environment that promotes the well-being of all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Psychological Assessments: Administer comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assess students' cognitive, emotional, and academic development.
- Behavioral and Emotional Support: Develop and implement individualized interventions for students facing academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure students' academic and emotional needs are met through effective communication and teamwork.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support to students in crisis, helping them regain emotional stability and ensure their safety.
- Professional Development: Continuously engage in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and remain current with best practices in school psychology.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Masters degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field.
- Licensure: Active Texas state licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain licensure in Texas).
- Experience: Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges, is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and a student-centered approach to psychological services.
Position Details:
- Location: Onsite in Athens, TX, within a supportive and collaborative school district.
- Employment Type: Full-time, W-2 employee status.
- Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Caseload: Work with students across Kindergarten through 12th grade, providing direct psychological services.
