Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time, school-based role in McHenry, IL. This is an exciting opportunity for bilingual professionals who are passionate about providing speech and language services to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, including those with special education needs.
Position Overview
As a bilingual SLP in this district, you will work with students to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders, while helping them succeed in both English and their primary language. Your role will involve providing speech therapy services in a bilingual setting, collaborating with staff and families, and ensuring students communication needs are met in the school environment.
Job Requirements
- Must meet all qualifications and requirements set by local and state regulations to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this bilingual position.
- Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders in a bilingual setting.
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), speech therapy techniques, and behavior management.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with students, teachers, staff, and families.
Typical Job Duties
- Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders in both English and Spanish.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with students IEP goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual or small group settings.
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to support students' academic and social success.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and treatment plans.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input regarding student progress and future goals.
- Offer strategies to teachers to support students in the classroom setting, addressing both speech and language needs.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to speech-language therapy.
