Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements to apply:
- Education: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Licensing: Current Social Worker license (LCSW or equivalent) in Illinois.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting or working with children and families is preferred.
- Background Check: Must pass both state and local background checks.
- Skills: Strong communication, crisis intervention, and assessment skills; ability to collaborate with school staff and families to create supportive environments.
Responsibilities:
As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and social/emotional issues.
- Developing and implementing individualized plans to address students' mental health and behavioral challenges.
- Providing individual and group counseling to students dealing with emotional or behavioral issues.
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop interventions and support strategies for students.
- Assisting students with coping strategies and conflict resolution techniques.
- Referring students and families to appropriate community resources and services as needed.
- Advocating for students' well-being and supporting their academic success through social and emotional development.
