This full-time position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment, helping students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
Position Details:
- Location: Barrington, IL
- Position Type: Full-Time School Social Worker
- Duration: 2024-2025 School Year (with potential for extension)
- Work Schedule: Standard school hours, Monday through Friday
- Start Date: As soon as possible, for the 2024-2025 school year
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students addressing emotional, social, and behavioral issues.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create a supportive educational environment.
- Assist in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs and create customized treatment plans.
- Support the development and monitoring of IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) for students requiring special services.
- Work closely with school staff to integrate social-emotional learning into the curriculum.
- Provide referrals to external mental health professionals and community resources when necessary.
Requirements:
- A Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field.
- Active licensure as a School Social Worker in Illinois.
- Previous experience working in a school setting preferred, but not required.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
- A passion for supporting students' mental health and well-being.
