Job Description:
As an Occupational Therapist in Kent, WA, you will work with students to address physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges, helping them develop essential skills for success in school and daily life. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create and implement treatment plans tailored to each students needs, particularly focusing on those in special education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students occupational therapy needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals.
- Provide direct therapy services in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and parents to ensure effective service delivery.
- Document and track students progress, adjusting therapy strategies as needed.
- Recommend and assist in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as district policies.
- Support students in enhancing their ability to participate in academic and extracurricular activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience with special education students and families is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
