BlazerJobs is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time position in Leonardtown, MD. The successful candidate will work with middle and high school students to provide essential speech therapy services and support students in developing communication skills necessary for success in school and beyond. This is a full-time, school-based position with a consistent schedule Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech therapy services to middle and high school students with a range of communication and language needs.
- Assist in conducting speech and language assessments to determine students' therapy needs and progress.
- Implement therapy plans designed by the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to address speech articulation, language development, fluency, and social communication skills.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and school staff to integrate speech therapy goals into the students daily routines and classroom activities.
- Monitor student progress and assist in adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
- Provide consultation and support to school staff on strategies to help students improve communication skills.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy services, student progress, and communication with parents and school staff.
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and other school-related meetings as necessary.

- Location: Leonardtown, MD
- Position Type: Full-Time, Contract (37.5 hours/week)
- Schedule: Monday Friday, consistent school hours
- Caseload: Middle and High School students (varied communication needs)
Experience:
- SLPA Certification in the state of Maryland is required.
- Experience working with students in a school-based or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Ability to work with students of diverse ages and communication needs.
Special Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to implement individualized therapy plans and track student progress.
- Knowledge of various speech and language disorders and strategies to support students communication development.
