Qualifications:
- Must meet all local and state requirements for Speech-Language Pathologists in Virginia.
- Must have a Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Virginia State Licensure (SLP) is required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience working with a variety of age groups and diverse speech and language needs is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language delays, communication disorders, or speech impediments.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Plans).
- Educate teachers and staff on strategies to support students with speech and language needs.
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Offer support in areas such as articulation, fluency, voice, language disorders, and augmentative/alternative communication devices.
