Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time contract position in Saint Johns, Michigan. This school-based role offers the opportunity to work with students in an engaging and supportive educational environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with special education students and their families, although all qualified professionals are encouraged to apply. The district may offer renewal opportunities based on performance during the contract period.
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet all local and state certification and licensure requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language evaluations for students referred for special education services.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Provide direct therapy to students, focusing on a range of speech and language impairments.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support students speech and language development.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans to meet evolving needs.
- Document therapy sessions, evaluations, and progress in compliance with district and school requirements.
- Assist in the development and review of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on strategies for working with students with speech and language challenges.
- Stay updated on best practices, research, and state regulations related to speech therapy and special education services.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with special education students and their families.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, as well as effective therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of educators, therapists, and families.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Michigan state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is required.
