Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a full-time, school-based contract position in Arlington, WA. Position Overview:
As an SLP in this role, you will work within the school district to provide speech therapy services to students, especially those with special education needs. You must meet all local and state regulations for certification and licensure. Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to address students' specific speech and language needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups, targeting speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure students are receiving appropriate and effective support.
- Track and document student progress, adjusting therapy strategies and goals as necessary.
- Attend IEP meetings, offering insights into students' progress, needs, and therapy goals.
- Address a wide range of speech disorders, including articulation, language processing, fluency, and voice issues.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to teachers and families to enhance student communication skills.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to speech therapy in the educational setting.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Washington (or the ability to obtain).
- Experience working with special education students and a strong understanding of IEP processes is highly preferred.
- Ability to assess and treat a broad range of speech and language disorders.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families.
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
