Position Overview:
The School Social Worker will play a vital role in providing emotional and social support to students, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed academically and personally. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, families, and community organizations to create a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work services to students, including counseling and crisis intervention
- Develop and implement individualized plans to address students' emotional, behavioral, and social needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance student success
- Conduct assessments and provide recommendations for interventions and support strategies
- Assist in developing and implementing school-wide programs that promote mental health and well-being
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to coordinate resources and support
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school and district policies
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Active Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) with a School Social Worker endorsement
- Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and address various social-emotional needs
