Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals for each student, as outlined in their IEPs.
- Provide direct therapy services in individual and group settings, focusing on speech and language development.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support the students progress and ensure a comprehensive approach to their therapy.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing valuable insights on student progress, treatment outcomes, and future goals.
- Educate and guide parents and school staff on strategies to support students communication needs.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet all local and state requirements:
- Valid North Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
- Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience in a school setting, working with children with speech and language disorders, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of IEPs and state/federal special education regulations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
