Role Overview: As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students communication development and academic success. This position requires a professional who is skilled in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Evaluation: Perform comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders among students.
- Individualized Therapy: Develop and implement customized treatment plans to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to support student progress and foster a collaborative environment.
- IEP Participation: Contribute to the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), setting measurable goals and tracking student progress.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely records of student assessments, therapy sessions, and progress, ensuring compliance with school district policies and state regulations.
- Family Support: Provide education and support to families, helping them understand their childs communication needs and the resources available to them.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of Texas.
- Certifications: ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certification is required.
- Experience: Prior experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Regulatory Compliance: Must meet all local and state requirements and regulations to be eligible for this position.
