Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a full-time position within school districts in the Maple Valley, Washington area. Position Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Occupational Therapy license in the state of Washington.
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Prior experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and experience working with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, to support their academic and functional goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create and implement interventions that enhance student performance in various school environments.
- Participate in the development, review, and implementation of IEPs, setting realistic goals and monitoring student progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
- Provide training and resources to school staff and parents to ensure the continuity of care and generalization of skills.
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in school-based occupational therapy.
