Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist for a full-time, school-based contract position in DeSoto, KS. This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to support the physical development and rehabilitation of students within an educational environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with special education students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of students physical abilities, including mobility, strength, and coordination. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on these evaluations.

Treatment Implementation: Provide direct therapy services to students, using therapeutic exercises and interventions to improve physical function and mobility.

Collaboration: Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families to ensure a coordinated approach to student support. Communicate regularly with all stakeholders about students progress and therapy needs.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required documentation, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.

Program Development: Create and manage personalized physical therapy programs tailored to each students specific needs. Adjust therapy plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

Family Support: Educate and support families regarding their childs physical therapy needs and provide strategies to help them support therapy goals at home.

Compliance: Ensure all therapy practices comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in physical therapy and best practices, particularly within a school-based setting.
Qualifications:

Licensure: Must hold a valid Physical Therapist license in Kansas.

Experience: Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred. Prior experience in a school-based environment is advantageous.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Education: Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
