Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a full-time, school-based contract position in Harper Woods, MI. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support the physical development and well-being of students within an educational setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with special education students and their families, although experience in other settings is also valued.
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of students' physical abilities, including mobility, strength, and coordination. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on these evaluations.

Treatment Implementation: Deliver direct therapy services to students, utilizing therapeutic exercises and interventions to improve physical function and mobility.

Collaboration: Partner with special education teams, teachers, and families to provide integrated support for students. Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders about students progress and therapy needs.

Documentation: Keep accurate and detailed records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other necessary documentation, ensuring adherence to local and state regulations.

Program Development: Create and manage tailored physical therapy programs to address each students specific needs. Adjust and modify therapy plans as required to achieve the best outcomes.

Family Support: Provide education and guidance to families about their child's physical therapy needs and offer strategies to support therapy goals at home.

Compliance: Ensure all therapy practices comply with relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest advancements and best practices in physical therapy, particularly within a school-based environment.
Qualifications:

Licensure: Valid Physical Therapist license in Michigan.

Experience: Experience with special education students and families is highly preferred. Previous experience in a school-based setting is beneficial.

Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.

Education: Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
