Position Overview:
As a School SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), conduct therapy sessions, and support students in developing their speech and language skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Therapy Sessions: Implement speech and language therapy activities as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Support Classroom Activities: Help integrate speech and language goals into classroom activities and routines.
- Conduct Screenings: Assist in conducting speech and language screenings and assessments.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and other required documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SLPs, and other school staff to deliver comprehensive care and support to students.
- Family Communication: Provide support to families, helping them understand and manage their childs speech and language needs.
Qualifications:
- Education: Must have a Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Certification: Must have a SLPA State Teaching License.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children with speech and language disorders in a school setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills preferred.
