Blazer Jobs is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time, school-based role in Felton, DE. This position is perfect for experienced professionals who are passionate about supporting students with speech and language needs in a school setting. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver effective therapy and support to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Therapy Delivery: Implement speech and language therapy sessions based on individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Direct Therapy: Provide one-on-one and group therapy to students, focusing on areas such as articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive language skills.
- Progress Monitoring: Accurately track and document student progress, including collecting data on therapy outcomes and assisting in modifying treatment plans as needed.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and support students overall development.
- Assessment Support: Assist the SLP with assessments and evaluations to identify students speech and language needs.
- Classroom Support: Help students apply their speech and language skills in the classroom and other school settings.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant documentation to ensure compliance and monitor student progress.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Must hold a valid SLPA certification in accordance with Delaware state regulations.
- Experience: Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of speech and language development principles and therapy techniques. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of students and various classroom environments.
- Regulations: Compliance with all local and state regulations governing SLPA responsibilities.
