Blazer Jobs is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist for a full-time, school-based contract position in Smithfield, RI, to cover maternity leave. This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a meaningful impact on students physical health and development within an educational environment. The contract position provides an opportunity to work closely with students, families, and educational staff to support and enhance students' physical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct detailed evaluations of students physical abilities, including strength, mobility, and coordination. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on these assessments.

Treatment Implementation: Provide direct therapy services to students, using therapeutic exercises and interventions designed to improve physical function and mobility.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with special education teams, teachers, and families to ensure integrated support for students. Communicate regularly with all parties about students progress and any issues encountered.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and other documentation in accordance with local and state regulations.

Program Development: Design and manage personalized physical therapy programs tailored to each student's needs. Modify programs as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.

Family Support: Educate and support families regarding their childs physical therapy needs and provide guidance on how to support therapy goals at home.

Compliance: Ensure that all therapy practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to physical therapy and educational services.

Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in physical therapy and best practices, especially within a school-based setting.
Qualifications:

Licensure: Valid Physical Therapist license in Rhode Island.

Experience: Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred. Prior experience in a school-based environment is advantageous.

Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

Education: Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
