Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
As a COTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse needs, working closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and families. This position is vital in helping students achieve their educational goals and promoting their functional independence in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in assessing and implementing therapy services for students.
- Implement individualized education program (IEP) goals related to occupational therapy.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor skills, self-care, and sensory integration.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with educators to integrate therapy strategies into classroom activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Valid Massachusetts drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
