This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a pediatric special education setting, providing therapeutic services to students to help them achieve their educational goals.
General Details:
- Physical Therapist (School PT): School-Based Contract Opportunity
- Schedule: Follows the Standard School Year Calendar
- Hourly Pay: starting at $38+ hourly
Typical Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to assess students' motor skills, strength, range of motion, and functional mobility.
- Create and implement individualized therapy plans based on the specific needs of each student, ensuring alignment with their educational goals and Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students to improve their motor functions, postural control, balance, and mobility. Incorporate exercises, therapeutic activities, and equipment to promote physical development.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other members of the school team to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment and daily routines.
- Participate in IEP meetings to share insights on students' physical therapy needs and contribute to the development of their educational plans.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current, valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state.
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT) from an accredited institution.
- At least one year of experience working as a PT in a pediatric or school-based setting is preferred.
