Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Illinois State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with local and state regulations governing speech and language services in schools.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' specific needs.
- Provide direct therapy to students in one-on-one and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication goals.
- Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to therapy plans as needed.
- Conduct evaluations and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
- Provide recommendations for classroom modifications and strategies to support students with communication challenges.
- Educate staff and families about speech and language development and disorders.
