Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations to assess students' motor, sensory, and functional abilities
- Develop and implement customized occupational therapy plans to address students' individual needs
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, parents, and other therapists to ensure an integrated approach to student development
- Provide direct therapy to students in individual and group settings, focusing on improving fine motor skills, self-care, and other life skills
- Adapt learning environments and strategies to support students' inclusion and success in the classroom
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed, and report findings to educators and families
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings to contribute to comprehensive student plans
- Educate school staff on strategies to assist students with physical and sensory needs in the classroom
Requirements:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Kansas
- Experience in a school setting or working with children and adolescents is highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to providing high-quality therapy services and supporting student success
