Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing qualified and experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) for a full-time opportunity within school districts in the Richmond, CA area. This role offers a unique chance to work with students and support their educational development through targeted occupational therapy interventions.
Position Overview:
- Location: Richmond, CA Area
- Position Type: Full-Time, School-Based
- Pay: $44 - $47 an hour
- Contract Renewal: Based on performance for the next school year
Responsibilities:
As a COTA with Blazer Jobs, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting licensed Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized therapy plans for students.
- Supporting students in developing fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living skills.
- Documenting student progress and collaborating with the occupational therapy team to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Assisting in the creation of adaptive equipment and learning strategies to meet each students unique needs.
- Participating in IEP meetings and collaborating with teachers and parents to support students' occupational therapy goals.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet all local and state requirements for California:
- Education: Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field from an accredited program.
- Certification: Valid California COTA license or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is strongly preferred.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively with school staff and families.
