Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct virtual assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language skills to diagnose and develop therapy plans for students with communication disorders.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students, with a focus on speech and language goals.
- Provide virtual therapy services to students with speech, language, fluency, articulation, and voice disorders, using evidence-based techniques and virtual platforms.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to meet IEP goals.
- Collaborate with school teams (teachers, special education staff, parents) to ensure consistent implementation of speech and language strategies within the classroom and other educational environments.
- Attend IEP meetings and participate in virtual team meetings to discuss student progress and adjust intervention strategies.
- Provide parent and staff education on speech and language issues, offering guidance and recommendations for supporting students at home and in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, student progress, and assessments, in compliance with district and state regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of Ohio (or ability to obtain before starting).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (or in process).
- Experience in a school-based setting is preferred, particularly with remote or virtual therapy services.
- Proficiency with teletherapy platforms and virtual therapy tools.
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders, IEP development, and therapeutic interventions.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively work with students, parents, and educational teams remotely.
- Must meet all local and state regulations for SLPs in Ohio.
- Liability insurance is required for this 1099 contract role.
- Must be able to pass a background check as required by district policies.
