Job Title: School Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our school team for the upcoming academic year. As a school pediatric occupational therapist, you will work collaboratively with educators and parents to assess and treat children with various developmental delays, disabilities, or injuries affecting their ability to participate fully in school activities. Your role will involve developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, conducting assessments, providing therapy sessions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support students' educational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students' motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and functional performance in the school environment.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment findings and collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure student progress.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services, including therapeutic interventions and activities to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual perception, and self-care abilities.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve therapy goals.
- Educate and support teachers, parents, and caregivers on strategies and techniques to promote students' independence and participation in classroom activities.
- Collaborate effectively with other school professionals, including speech therapists, physical therapists, and psychologists, to provide comprehensive support to students.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of educational frameworks, special education laws, and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
