Blazerworks has partnered with the Norwalk School District to find a dedicated and compassionate School Occupational Therapist (OT) for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to work with students, helping them develop essential skills for academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic Support: Provide assessments, evaluations, and tailored occupational therapy services to students with a range of needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and strategies.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document students' progress, adjusting interventions as needed to meet their goals.
- Environment Adaptation: Assist in modifying classroom environments and activities to enhance accessibility and support for students.
- Training and Education: Provide guidance and resources for teachers and parents on techniques and practices that can support students' occupational goals.
Qualifications:
- Required: Valid Connecticut OT license.
- Preferred: Previous experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate within the school setting.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt strategies to meet varied student needs.
