Requirements
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- Education: Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Licensure: Valid Colorado state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Certification: ASHA certification (preferred) or eligibility for ASHA certification
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric clients is preferred
- Clearances: Successful completion of all state-required background checks and fingerprinting
Key Responsibilities
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will:
- Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on IEPs (Individualized Education Plans)
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings
- Track and document student progress, modifying therapy plans as necessary
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for services and accommodations
- Support students with speech and language issues that impact their academic performance and social integration
