This opportunity involves providing essential speech therapy services to students across various grade levels, helping them develop essential communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' speech and language abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to students' specific needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual or small group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to implement strategies supporting speech and language development.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy methods as necessary to maximize student success.
- Document and maintain accurate records of student therapy sessions and progress.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings, offering insights and recommendations for students with speech and language goals.
- Offer support and training to school staff and families on communication strategies.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid Louisiana state licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders, interventions, and therapy techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet state and local background check and screening requirements.
