Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) for a full-time role with school districts in the South Holland, IL area. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with licensed speech-language pathologists to support students with speech and language disorders, and to contribute to their success in the educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in providing speech and language therapy services to students.
- Implement therapy plans and strategies under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
- Work with students in both individual and small group settings to address speech and language delays, articulation issues, and other communication challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assist with preparing reports.
- Monitor and document student responses to therapy activities.
- Assist in the administration of standardized and informal assessments as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and other school staff to support student progress.
- Ensure that therapy sessions are conducted in a safe and engaging environment.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and provide feedback.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Completion of an SLPA program recognized by the state.
- Current Illinois state licensure as an SLPA.
- Previous experience working with students in a school or educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with other professionals, teachers, and school staff.
- Must meet all state and local background check requirements.
