Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Monroe, NC. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled OT to work within a school-based setting, providing critical support to students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students' needs, including evaluating motor, sensory, and cognitive skills.
- Intervention Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on students specific needs and educational goals.
- Direct Therapy: Provide direct therapy services to students in both one-on-one and group settings to improve their functional performance and participation in school activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to create and modify educational plans, ensuring that therapy goals align with academic and developmental objectives.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and evaluations.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local and state regulations and guidelines pertaining to occupational therapy and special education services.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in occupational therapy and special education.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
- Experience: Previous experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.
