Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elementary School Psychologist to join a dynamic team in Smithfield, RI. This full-time role will be focused on supporting students in grades K-5 by providing psychological services, assessments, and interventions. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and staff to foster a positive school climate and address the academic, social, and emotional needs of students. Hours are Monday-Friday, 35 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments for students in grades K-5.
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students emotional and social development.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement interventions for students.
- Contribute to the creation and management of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention and support when necessary.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide consultation to staff and parents.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of evaluations, services, and student progress.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Specialist degree in School Psychology.
- Rhode Island School Psychologist Licensure required.
- Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of psychoeducational assessments, behavioral interventions, and social-emotional development.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
