Minimum 1+ years speech therapy experience required.
BlazerJobs is currently seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a work-from-home position with a school district in North Carolina. As teletherapy becomes more prevalent in schools, this role offers numerous advantages to both students and clinicians. Students in areas lacking on-site therapists benefit from virtual care, while therapists enjoy flexibility in their schedules and the comfort of working from home.
Telepractice also eliminates transportation issues and allows clinicians to work across the country, pursue professional growth, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses of speech, voice, hearing, and language impairments for students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the needs of students.
- Conduct therapy sessions virtually using digital tools and resources.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and support for students' progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for each student.
- Stay up to date on best practices and research in speech therapy and teletherapy techniques.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience working in a school setting.
- Experience providing therapy and services virtually or via teletherapy is preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- State licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Speech-Language Pathologist in North Carolina.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children, particularly in a virtual or teletherapy setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing virtual sessions and documentation.
- Comfort with technology to deliver therapy and document student progress via virtual platforms.
Requirements:
- Must be comfortable with being an independent contractor and provide your own liability insurance.
- Home computer with high-speed internet required.
- Successful completion of a basic tech screening to ensure smooth virtual therapy delivery.
