Position Overview:
As a School Social Worker, you will provide critical support to students, families, and school staff, helping to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Your role will include addressing barriers to student success, offering guidance to those in need, and creating strategies to ensure students thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Provide individual and group counseling to address issues such as anxiety, peer relationships, family dynamics, and academic pressures.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create effective intervention and support plans.
- Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to ensure students have access to necessary resources.
- Develop and lead programs to promote mental health awareness and social-emotional learning within the school community.
- Respond promptly to crises and provide immediate support to students and families.
- Advocate for students rights and needs, ensuring equitable access to education and services.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Active Colorado state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Social Worker.
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
