Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate School Social Worker to join our team in Gainesville, FL. In this role, you will work with K-12 students to support their emotional, social, and behavioral well-being. The ideal candidate will help students navigate challenges, promote mental health awareness, and contribute to a positive school environment by collaborating with staff, families, and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities:

Student Support: Provide individual and group counseling services for students facing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. Work to help students develop healthy coping mechanisms and improve their overall mental health.

Assessment & Planning: Conduct thorough assessments to identify students emotional and social needs. Create and implement tailored support plans aimed at promoting academic success and emotional well-being.

Collaboration: Collaborate with school staff, families, and community organizations to ensure comprehensive support for students. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss and address student concerns.

Crisis Response: Provide immediate support for students experiencing emotional crises, ensuring their safety and stability. Work with school teams to develop crisis management plans as needed.

Program Implementation: Lead or contribute to the development of school-wide mental health initiatives and social-emotional learning (SEL) programs that support the overall well-being of students and staff.
Qualifications:

Education: Masters degree in School Social Work or a related field.

Licensure: Must hold an active Florida Social Worker License or be eligible for licensure in School Social Work in Florida.

Experience: Experience in school settings, clinical settings, or working with children and adolescents is preferred but not required. Passion for supporting students' mental health is essential.

Skills: Strong counseling and crisis intervention skills, excellent communication, and an ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
