Position Overview
As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will work with students of various ages to assess and treat physical, sensory, and cognitive conditions that affect their daily functioning. The goal is to enhance the students' quality of life and support their participation in school activities and daily routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students needs and abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on students' goals and educational needs.
- Provide therapy services to students with various disabilities, including those with physical, sensory, and developmental challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the classroom setting.
- Monitor and track students' progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary.
- Provide training and guidance to school staff on how to support students' therapy needs.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to therapy services.
Requirements
- Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Certification: Valid Illinois state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Experience: Prior experience in a school-based setting preferred, but not required.
- Other Requirements:
- Must meet local and state requirements for Occupational Therapists.
- Clear background check.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
