Position Overview
As a part-time Occupational Therapist, you will work directly with students to assess, develop, and implement therapy plans that promote fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence. You will collaborate closely with educators and parents to create a supportive learning atmosphere that aligns with each students needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to determine students occupational therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans targeting fine motor, gross motor, and sensory integration skills.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to support students IEP goals within the classroom.
- Document and monitor student progress, making adjustments as necessary to therapy plans.
- Provide guidance to educators on best practices for supporting student needs in the school setting.
Requirements
- Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of Massachusetts state regulations for school-based occupational therapy.
- Background check clearance.
- Completion of any district-required certifications or training.
