Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Lackawanna County, PA (Primarily Scranton/Dunmore area)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Month-to-month basis with potential to extend through August 2025
Schedule: 2-3 days per week with potential to grow
Hours: 8:15 AM 3:15 PM
Position Details
This itinerant role is designed to support preschool-aged students by assisting with caseload overflows across Early Childcare Centers in the Lackawanna County area.
Responsibilities Include:
- Traveling to various preschools to deliver speech-language services according to a pre-determined schedule.
- Writing and managing IEPs, ensuring compliance with due dates and regulations.
- Completing billing and progress monitoring tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Providing direct speech therapy services to preschool-aged students, targeting a variety of speech and language goals.
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and Early Childcare Center staff to create and implement strategies that enhance communication skills and student success.
Qualifications
- Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Certification: Current Pennsylvania state license in Speech-Language Pathology and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience working with preschool-aged children is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational skills to manage an itinerant schedule effectively.
- Proficiency in IEP development and progress monitoring.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
- Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple locations throughout the day.
