Minimum 1+ years school therapist experience required.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dyslexia Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized, individualized instruction to students diagnosed with dyslexia, focusing on developing reading and spelling skills through multisensory approaches. This position requires expertise in structured literacy practices to address students' specific learning challenges and a commitment to supporting their academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group therapy sessions to students with dyslexia, using evidence-based multisensory techniques.
- Develop and implement personalized education plans to improve reading, spelling, and overall literacy skills.
- Utilize structured literacy approaches to support students' phonemic awareness, decoding, and fluency.
- Regularly assess students progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet evolving needs.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure coordinated and effective support for students.
- Provide guidance and resources to parents and teachers on how to best support students with dyslexia at home and in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and assessments.
- Stay current on best practices, professional development, and new research related to dyslexia and literacy instruction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Certification or training in dyslexia therapy, such as Flight trained, but as long as they have been trained through Mimslec training site applicant will be considered
- Prior experience working with students with dyslexia or other learning differences is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the science of reading and multisensory teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs.
