Position Details
- Location: Bloomfield, CT
- Type: Full-Time
- Duration: 2024-2025 School Year
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, following the school calendar
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.
- Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources to ensure students receive necessary support.
- Develop and implement interventions to promote academic success and emotional well-being.
- Participate in creating and monitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
- Facilitate workshops and programs for staff, students, and families on topics such as mental health, social skills, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with educators and administration to foster a safe and inclusive school environment.
- Address crisis situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field.
- Valid Connecticut School Social Worker certification or eligibility to obtain it.
- Proven experience in a school or youth-focused setting (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for empowering students and working in diverse educational environments.
