Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced School Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) for a full-time position with school districts in the Ellicott City, MD area. This is a great opportunity for an SLP to make a significant impact in the academic and social development of students in a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students speech and language skills through evaluations and observations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, targeting goals related to speech, language, articulation, fluency, and social communication.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide consultation and training to school staff on speech and language development and strategies to support students in the classroom.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting therapy as needed to ensure continued development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and therapy sessions.
- Work with students in small groups or individually, depending on their needs.
- Participate in school-wide meetings, including IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required).
- Current Maryland licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) preferred but not required.
- Experience working with children, especially in a school setting (preferred).
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders and intervention techniques.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with educators and parents.
- Must meet all local and state requirements, including:
- Passing a background check and fingerprint clearance.
